David began singing and playing clarinet at the age of 9, performing in musicals and bands from a very young age. He had his first private voice lesson at age 18, and since then has studied with 7 other teachers in styles ranging from Classical to Jazz.  

David received his Bachelor’s in Voice and Music Composition in 1992.  He then trained as an actor at The Bennett Theatre Lab in San Francisco, after relocating to the Bay Area in 1994.   From 1995-1997 he was an integral member of the groundbreaking Jazz Vocal ensemble, Mirabai where he had the opportunity to perform with composer/arranger Michael Smolens, world class drummer Russ Gold, New York based guitarist Joel Harrision, and singer-songwriter Tamsen Fynn. He has also been a key collaborator with San Franscisco Cabaret singer and actress Beth Wilmurt. Through his solo work, he has worked with Bassist Lee Elfenbein, Keyboardist Joshua Paxton (Afghan Wigs, Wild Magnolias), and Bassist/Vocalist Scott Hughes (Sordid Boon, Rooster Ra).  He has performed in dozens of Bay Area venues, including The Owl and Monkey, Artists Café, Accordion Art and Music Space, Annie’s Hall, SF City College, SF Unity Church, and Coffee Katz (Sepastapol). After playing the title role in the musical Woody Guthrie's American Song, he was asked to do an encore performance on KPFA radio (1998). David's music is heard on the independent film IPO, which has toured the worldwide festival circuit.   

David has served as musical director for the following professional companies: American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, TheatreWorks, Pacific Playback Theatre, The Magic Theatre and Art Street Theatre.  He has appeared as a singer or actor in 24 stage productions and 10 films, including “IPO”, which appeared in the Slamdance Festival in 2004 and was selected as The Best Digital Feature in the Berkeley Film and Video Festival.  David’s directorial debut was in 2000 with his medium length Sci-Fi Fantasy “The H-Tour”.  As a voice over artist, his credits include Frontier Infinity, Lombardi Sports, MGAE Sports, Microsoft Front Page, National Radio Project, Pacific Playback Theatre.  His voice is heard on the following Sony Playstation Video Games: “Star Ocean”, “Bloody Roar” and “Legend of the Dragoon”.   

Since his return to L.A. in 2005 he has released a Solo EP, Mind Aside, and is now playing in clubs in the area. Recent venues have included Tangier Lounge, The Mint, Club Fais Do Do and Genghis Cohen. His music has recently been aired on the Belgium Web Radio Station “Golden Flash”.  He is currently in the studio recording his first full length solo album.    

David is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Mouthnoise Media production company. He is a current faculty member of The Santa Monica Academy of Music.
